Empowering Agriculture Through Innovation
Mokelumne Farms was founded by David Tortia, David began working with his grandfather, Remo Tortia, who founded Remo’s Egg Farm. From a young age, David learned to cultivate vegetables, grow vineyards, and care for fruit trees—skills that ignited his passion for farming and shaped his lifelong commitment to agriculture. This early exposure to hands-on ranch work inspired David to attend Fresno State, where agriculture is deeply embedded in the curriculum. He graduated in 2001 with a degree in Business Administration and extensive studies in enology and viticulture. Since then, David has built a career managing and operating farmland throughout the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys. He brings decades of firsthand experience farming and managing properties of various sizes and crop types—balancing productivity, compliance, and investor returns.
